      Rho Ophiuch, Mesmerizing!

This is an image I processed using original LRGB data from Telescope Live. The telescope is located in Heaven's Valley Observatory near Canberra, Australia.

The Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex is a large complex of bright and dark nebulae located in the constellation Ophiuchus. It is located approximately 460 light-years away. The complex of interstellar clouds is one of the nearest star-forming regions to our solar system. The brightest star in this image is Antares (on the right), the fifteenth brightest star in the sky and the brightest star in the constellation Scorpius.

I cannot observe this spectacular object from my home in the SF Bay Area, California, so I did the next best thing ... processed some great images captured by a Telescope Live observatory in southeast Australia. I only used the RGB images in this rendering. There was only one Ha frame in the data set so I did not integrate it into this image. I may revisit this to see if integrating luminance frames helps. I used PixInsight's Multiscale Gradient Correction with the MARS database for gradient correction. I love the complexity and depth of this image!
