The Eagle Nebula is an H II region approximately 5700 light-years distant. Featuring the Pillars of Creation in which the longest spire of molecular gas and dust is approximately 9.5 light-years long. The entire region includes bubbles, filaments, and shockwaves that were all created by the nebula's stellar forces.
