      ✨ RCW 38 — A Star-Forming Inferno ✨

Deep within the constellation Vela, RCW 38 is a young and massive star-forming region located about 5,500 light-years away.

It’s home to some of the most luminous and hottest stars in our galaxy — their fierce radiation and stellar winds carve the surrounding gas and dust into dramatic, glowing structures.

In this Hubble Palette (SHO) image, sulfur (SII) appears in golden tones, hydrogen (Hα) in greenish hues, and oxygen (OIII) in deep blues — revealing the chaotic beauty of creation itself.

💫 RCW 38 reminds us that even amidst turbulence and destruction, new stars — and perhaps new worlds — are born.

      ✨ Constellation: Vela

      📏 Distance: ~5,500 light-years

      💫 Apparent Magnitude: ~10

      📐 Apparent Size: ~8′
