      NGC 6744

      NGC 6744 (Caldwell 101 or the Pavo Galaxy) is a spiral Galaxy in the constellation Pavo (Peacock). The distance is estimated as 38.6 ± 2.7 Mly .

      The galaxy was discovered on 30 June 1826 by Scottish astronomer James Dunlop, observing from Australia.


      One of the largest spiral galaxies in the local universe, NGC 6744 is considered a Milky Way mimic in the immediate vicinity, displaying remarkable star formation, arms, and an elongated core.

      Luminance -4h30min;

      Red -3h 15 min; Green -4h 10min, Blue- 3h 20min;

      Total integration 15h 15 min
