      Lagoon in Deep Space (Ha+LRGB)

The Lagoon Nebula (M8) is a vast stellar nursery in the constellation Sagittarius, visible as a faint smudge to the naked eye and spectacular in telescopes, famous for its lagoon-shaped dust lane that divides its glowing gas, a site of active star formation, containing young stars like Herschel 36, and located about 4,000-5,000 light-years away. It's an emission nebula (H II region) where hot, young stars ionize nearby gas, creating light, and dust lanes sculpt its appearance, making it an ideal object for studying star birth. Over 6 and half hours of Ha, LRGB data from the Telescope Live remote observatory in Australia.
