      NGC 2516

      NGC 2516 is located about 1,300 light-years away from Earth.

      Age: The cluster is around 135 million years old, making it a relatively young open cluster. It has an overall apparent magnitude of around 3.8, which makes it easily visible with the unaided eye under dark skies.

      The cluster spans around 30 light-years in diameter.

      NGC 2516 contains hundreds of stars, many of which are blue-white giants and hot B-type stars. There are also several red giants, and the cluster is rich in stars with a high metallicity. Some variable stars and binary systems have been detected within it.
