Supernova SN 2023ixf in galaxy M101

Supernova SN 2023ixf in galaxy M101. Discovered by amateur astronomer Koichi Itagaki on May 19, 2023. (AAS Nova) I have a couple of lines on the image that point to SN 2023ixf.

Messier 101, the Pinwheel Galaxy, is a face on, non-barred, spiral galaxy.

On 6/25/2023, I was at Lick Observatory as a telescope operator for the 1 Meter Nickels Reflector. That evening, after a public event, I slewed the telescope to M101 so that the group could view SN 2023ixf.
