NGC 3242, the Ghost of Jupiter nebula

NGC 3242 is among the few observable planetary nebulae in the northern spring sky. It measures a couple of light-years across, and a magnitude 11 white dwarf star resides near its center. Its distance from us is approximately 4,800 light-years.

The image was taken remotely from Chile between January 24 and 26, 2024. The total exposure lasted 45 minutes in HSO with a Planewave CDK24 60cm f/6.5 telescope and a QHY 600M camera.
