      Large Magellanic Cloud

      Processed from the Telescope Live AUS2-CCD Wallpaper dataset. My processing is based on the LRGB data available in my downloaded dataset (TL3?) with a total of 31h.

      At first, I thought the dataset might contain a bit more luminance than necessary. However, after processing all 31 hours and 10 minutes of data, I came to appreciate just how much the luminance contributes to the fine detail while still preserving a natural appearance. The long total integration made it possible to keep noise reduction to an absolute minimum, allowing the countless small stars of the Large Magellanic Cloud to remain intact.

      I particularly enjoyed working with the high-quality CCD data. The FITS files are of a very manageable size while still providing excellent signal and detail.

      Most of the heavy work—including registration, integration and the LRGB combination—was done in Astro Pixel Processor (APP), followed by the final refinements in PixInsight.
