IC 1274 is an emission nebula contained within the Lands 227 molecular cloud in the constellation of Sagittarius. It is approx. 4000 light years from Earth. This image contains several objects catalogued in the NGC and IC catalogues. IC 1274 is the bright, circular nebula at the top centre of the image. Just below is the fainter circular nebula IC 1275. Between the two is situated a wide dark nebula, Barnard 91.
