      IC 348 / NGC 1333

NGC 1333 is a small diffuse nebula, visible in the constellation Perseus. It is part of the Perseus Cloud, one of the closest star-forming regions of low-mass stars to the Solar System. It is located about 3 degrees southwest of the star ο Persei, in that area of the sky where the constellations of Perseus, Aries and Taurus meet; It is little known in amateur observation due to the nearby presence of the Pleiades and the much larger California Nebula, although it is brighter than the nebulae associated with the Pleiades. It's actually a relatively simple object to spot, even with a small amateur telescope. It is observed well from both hemispheres, although observers of the Northern Hemisphere are more advantaged by its northern declination.
