      NGC 1532 and NGC 1531

      This is an image of NGC 1532. It is an edge-on barred spiral galaxy about 50 million light years away in the constellation Eridanus. It is interacting with the nearby dwarf galaxy NGC 1531 which is creating the plumes above the galactic disk and around NGC 1531. This galaxy is a member of the Fornax cluster of galaxies.
