The large nebula NGC 2014 and its smaller blue neighbour NGC 2020 are part of a vast star-forming region in the nearby Large Magellanic Cloud which is a satellite galaxy of our own galaxy the Milky Way.
NGC 2014 is also known as the 'Cosmic Reef' due to it's resemblance to a terrestrial undersea world. NGC 2020 has been shaped by a young, massive Wolf-Rayet star.
