NGC 253, also known as the Silver Dollar Galaxy or Sculptor Galaxy, is an intermediate spiral galaxy located in the constellation Sculptor. Situated approximately 11 million light-years away from Earth, it is one of the brightest and closest galaxies to our own Milky Way. The galaxy is known for its intense star formation activity.
