Vela SNR in SHO and HSO

Images of the Vela SNR acquired with AUS2 Takahashi FSQ-106ED refractor in Australia.

The Vela supernova remnant is a supernova remnant in the southern constellation Vela. Its source Type II supernova exploded approximately 11,000–12,300 years ago (and was about 800 light-years away).

Pro Dataset curated by Ian Howarth

Both processed this dataset in the "classical" Hubble colour palette (SHO) and in HSO with RGB star colours (the HSO version emphasizes the reddish ionised hydrogen region more)
