NGC 3372 a.k.a. Carina Nebula

Carina Nebula is located about 8500 light-years away in the constellation Carina and is one of the best known targets in the southern hemisphere. With a diameter of over 200 light years, Carina is large enough to be photographed even with a photo lens.
Discovered in the first half of the 18th century, Carina is thought to be a diffuse nebula, but some areas are bright enough to be seen through a small / medium telescope.
As an interesting mention, this nebula hosts WR25 - the brightest known star (in the Milky Way), its brightness being almost 2.5 million times higher than that of the Sun.
