      NGC 4038 + 9

      NGC 4038 (PGC 37967, UGCA 264, VV 245b, Caldwell 60 and others) and NGC 4039 (PGC 37969, UGCA 265, VV 245a, Caldwell 61 and others) are collectively known as Arp 244. These are located approximately 72 million light-years away in Corvus.

      Luminance – 22x300s – 110 minutes – binned 2x2

      RGB – 20:22:25x300s – 100:110:125 minutes each – binned 2x2

      445 minutes total exposure – 7 hours 25 minutes

      Imaged over nine nights in April, May, June and July, 2023 at the El Sauce Observatory (Rio Hurtado, Chile) with a QHY 600M on a PlaneWave CDK24 at f/6.5 3974 mm.
