      Omega Centauri - NGC 5139

      Omega Centauri (NGC 5139, Caldwell 80 and others) is the largest globular cluster in our galaxy. It is estimated to contain 10 million stars. Shining at a bright 3.9 magnitude, it is located approximately 15,800 light-years away in Centaurus.

      Luminance – 10x300s – 50 minutes – binned 1x1

      RGB – 12:10:11x300s – 60:50:55 minutes each – binned 1x1

      215 minutes total exposure – 3 hours 35 minutes

      Imaged June 29th, July 7th and 28th, 2021 at the El Sauce Observatory (Rio Hurtado, Chile) with a FLI PL 9000 on a PlaneWave CDK24 at f/6.5 3974 mm.
