      RCW80

      RCW 80 is an emission nebula visible in the southern constellation of Centaurus.

      It appears as an extensive and diffuse cloud located in the southern part of the constellation, immersed in the rich star fields of the southern Milky Way at a short angular distance from the open cluster NGC 5281. Given its strongly southern declination, its observation is possible only from the regions of the terrestrial southern hemisphere and the tropical ones of the northern hemisphere; from the southern hemisphere it appears circumpolar up to subtropical latitudes. The most suitable period for its observation in the evening sky is from March to August.
