The 'Seagull Nebula', IC 2177, is colourful overall:

This is because of the range of ionization in the gas, which results in emission from different ions, at different wavelength.
This closeup of the 'head' of the seagull shows fine structural details, but is chromatically somewhat bland, because the gas visible here is all in a low-ionization state.
