NGC 1955
NGC 1955 (ESO 56-SC121, DUN 211) is an open cluster embedded in the emission nebula N51D which is a H II region in the Large Magellanic Cloud. It was discovered by James Dunlop on 3 August 1826.
NGC 1955 has an apparent magnitude of 9.0 and is about 1.8’ wide.
The N51D emission region is identified as NGC 1968 in some references and is also identified as an open cluster.
