This iconic object was presented by NASA in the "hubble palette" (sho) and dubbed the pillars of creation for its towering tendrils of dust and gas in the heart of M16 Eagle Nebula. The eagle nebula is a very bright object able to be viewed with a small telescope and is best observed in July in the northern hemisphere.
