RCW 19 (GUM 10), is an emission nebula in the constellation Puppis that is also part of a large, active star-forming region within a giant molecular cloud. Located approximately 10,400 to 10,700 light-years away, it is illuminated and ionized by young, hot stars, particularly the O7 giant star HD 69464. The nebula's vibrant red and blue/teal colors come from glowing hydrogen gas and oxygen emissions, respectively, and are a sign of ongoing stellar birth.
