Abell 33

Abell 33 (PN G238.0+34.8, PK 238+34 1 and others) is a planetary nebula located approximately 3250 light-years away in Hydra. HD 83535, the bright star ‘near’ it leads to the diamond ring look in images.

Luminance – 24x300s – 120 minutes – binned 2x2

RGB – 24x300s – 120 minutes each – binned 2x2

480 minutes total exposure – 8 hours

Imaged January 6th through the 11th, 2025 at the El Sauce Observatory (Rio Hurtado, Chile) with a QHY 600M on a PlaneWave CDK24 at f/6.5 3974 mm.
