NGC 5033 is an unbarred Seyfert type 1 spiral galaxy located in the constellation Canes Venatici. Its distance is approximately 40 million light years from earth. It is powered by an active nucleus containing a supermassive black hole. With an apparent magnitude of 10.75, it is bright enough and large enough in the sky for amateur astronomers to see with any telescope.
