      LDN 1251

LDN 1251 (from Lynds’ Catalogue of Dark Nebulae) is part of a molecular cloud structure in the constellation Cepheus. Several Herbig-Haro objects are associated with LDN 1251. These are visible as small red patches of nebulosity associated with newly born stars. Also on this image are distant galaxies, obscured by the molecular dust, the most prominent being PGC166755 (Left) and PGC69472 (Center). LDN1251 is about 1000ly away from Earth.
