SH2-254 is a large, faint H II region (emission nebula) in the Orion constellation, part of a star-forming complex (Sh2-254 to Sh2-258) embedded in a massive molecular cloud about 8,000 light-years away, known for its active star formation with young massive clusters and infrared sources, and is often imaged alongside the brighter nebulae Sh2-255 and Sh2-257
