      NGC 2244 HOO Inside The Rosette CHI-1 One-Clicks

      NGC 2244 is the open cluster in the heart of the Rosette Nebula in Monoceros. The cluster is composed of hot O-type stars which emit copious amounts of radiation and stellar wind. The cluster lies at a distance of 5,200 light-years and has an estimated age of less than 5 million years. Several of the stars in this cluster are 400,000 times brighter than the Sun and are as much as 50 times more massive.
