Cederblad 51 is part of Sharpless 2-264 in what is commonly known as Orion's head. It is also known as the Lambda Orionis Ring, is a molecular cloud and H II region, which can be seen in the northern region of the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex an area of large hot new star formation.
