LDN 858

Lynds Catalog of Dark Nebulae (or Catalog of Dark Nebulae, abbreviated LDN or sometimes L) is a list assembled by Beverly Lynds in the 1950s-1960s of dark nebulae found on plates of the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey. This image is a wide field view containing LDN 858 - the ‘spikes’ in the centre of the field of view, found in the constellation of Cygnus. To the top of the image is the Tulip nebula.
