NGC 5189

NGC 5189, a.k.a Spiral Planetary nebula, Gum 47, or IC 4274 a complex planetary nebula in Musca ~1780-3000 light years away and 1 light year across. Most recent studies put it as a quadrupolar nebula with multiple symmetrical interactions and flows with a low-mass Wolf-Rayet star at its center.

The image combines broadband (RGB) and narrowband data (SHO) with RGB stars. Total 30h 10m RGB (13:12:13x600s) SHO (46:47:50x600s). From CHI-1 Telescope, a Planewave CDK24 with FLI PL 9000 camera, and Astrodon 2nd GEN LRGB, HSO 3nm filters, situated in the Rio Hurtado Valley, Chile. Part of the telescope.live telescope network.
