      SH2 86

SH2 86 is an emission nebula in the constellation of Vulpecula approx. 6,000 light years from Earth. The image also shows the open cluster NGC 6823, surrounded by the nebula. The stars in the cluster are young and hot, the intense radiation from them is responsible for the distinctive shapes of the pillars, Boc Globule and nebula clouds.

Also in the image is the small reflection nebula NGC 6820
