Sh2-86, also known as NGC 6820, is an emission nebula located in the constellation Vulpecula, about 6000 light-years away from Earth. It encases the young open star cluster NGC 6823, creating a celestial tableau illuminated by the cluster's bright stars. A trunk-like pillar of dust and gas extends from the nebula towards NGC 6823, showcasing the dynamic interaction between stellar formation and the surrounding interstellar medium.
