      Helix Nebula (NGC 7293)

Located in the constellation Aquarius about 655 light-years away, the Helix Nebula was formed by ionized gas ejected from a giant red star. That star is now a white dwarf.

This data set includes exposures from 2023 and 2024. I processed it using the HOO palette because the SII channel was weaker and noisier than the others.
