It is observed in the east-central part of the constellation, about 5° southeast of the Rosetta Nebula. It can be seen and photographed through a high-power amateur telescope equipped with special filters. Being almost straddling the celestial equator, it can be observed from all populated areas of the Earth with ease without any privileges; The best time to observe it in the evening sky is from December to April.
