SH2-54

Sharpless 54 (SH2-54) is an extended emission nebula in the constellation of Serpens Cauda approx. 7000 light years from Earth. It belongs to the extended nebulosity that includes the Eagle and Swan nebulae. In its core there are many protostars and infrared sources, some of these are probably very young, high mass stars.
