Sharpless 9
Sharpless 9 (Sh2-9 or Gum 65) is a combined emission and reflection nebula in the Scorpius constellation, surrounding the multiple star system Alnyat (Sigma Scorpii).
It is thought this star, a variable giant star, is ionizing this region.
This SHO-image was acquired with CHI-2 (ASA500N telescope). Data from 3 one-click observations.
Total integration time 190 minutes
SHO 12:14:12 subs of 600s with each narrowband filter (SII, Ha and OIII).
