The Tarantula Nebula

The Tarantula Nebula or NGC 2070 is a large and very bright diffuse nebula located within the large magellanic cloud dwarf galaxy in the constellation Dorado. It is one of the largest and brightest objects in the night sky, especially with its distance of 160,000 light years, with an apparent magnitude of 8. This image is a combination of broadband LRGB information and narrowband h-alpha information. the ha was used as luminance for the already combined LRGB. Other methods of processing include star reduction, local histogram equalization, and selective color correction. Touch-ups with camera raw adjustments, levels, and rescreening the stars were applied in Photoshop.
