The Rosette Nebula (NGC 2237) is a vast star-forming region located about 5,200 light-years away in the constellation Monoceros (The Unicorn).

This cosmic rose is a stellar nursery, where intense radiation from young, hot stars in the open cluster NGC 2244 sculpts the surrounding clouds of hydrogen, oxygen, and sulfur gas into intricate, glowing filaments.

Captured here in the Hubble Palette (SHO), the nebula reveals a symphony of colors that represent different ionized elements — golden tones for sulfur, greenish hues for hydrogen, and blues for oxygen.
