NGC 253 - Silver Coin Galaxy

NGC 253, also known as the Sculptor Galaxy, the Silver Coin Galaxy spiral galaxy located in the constellation Sculptor, approximately 11.6 million light-years from Earth. It was discovered on September 23, 1783, by Caroline Herschel. NGC 253 is a galaxy with a faint core and highly developed spiral arms. At the galaxy's core lies a supermassive black hole similar in size and mass to the one at the center of the Milky Way.

This picture is a composition of images obtained with the PW CDK24 telescope and both CCD and CMOS cameras. Due to the vast number of dusty regions imaging this galaxy requires excellent seeing conditions. Otherwise, deconvolution in post-processing stage creates a large number of artifacts. Therefore, for the luminance channel, I used only the best 19 images (9 from the CCD and 10 from the CMOS). I also used the BXT with a moderate or even low deconvolution settings to obtain as natual picture as it is only possible.
