This is a dataset of the region around NGC 1999. It is an HII region about 1,500 light years away in the constellation Orion. NGC 1999 refers to the reflection nebula near the center of the image with the keyhole structure in the center. It is surrounded by a large region of emission and dark nebulae. This dataset contains over 34 hours of exposure time.
