UGCA 150 - Edge-on Spiral Galaxy in Hydra

UGCA 150 (also catalogued as PGC 25886) is a relatively faint galaxy from the Uppsala General Catalogue of Galaxies, sitting in the constellation Hydra. On the sky it presents as a long, slender system—its listed apparent size is about 5.2′ × 1.0′—which tends to give it an edge-on or highly inclined look in amateur images, with a brighter central region tapering into a much lower-surface-brightness outer disk. It’s the kind of target that doesn’t overwhelm you with obvious structure at first glance; instead, it rewards careful integration and gentle stretching, where the real satisfaction is pulling out the full extent of the faint disk against the surrounding star field.
