Messier 16 - The Eagle Nebula

First discovered by Lean-Phillipe Cheseaux in 1745-46, it resides in the constellation Serpens. A diffuse emission nebula (HII region), it sits about 5700 light-years away from us. It has a number of active star-forming regions as well as a young open cluster that contains around 8100 stars. This nebula was made famous by the Hubble Space Telescope as the Pillars of Creation which NASA released in 1995. My attempt was post-processed as SHO mostly with Pixinsight, but with some coloring done with Affinity Photo 2 selective color. The data set is from CHI-1 CCD.
