NGC346
NGC 346 is one of the most active star-forming regions in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC), a dwarf satellite galaxy of the Milky Way about 210,000 light-years away. The young, massive stars of the cluster are surrounded by glowing gas and intricate filaments of dust, shaping and eroding the nebula with intense radiation and stellar winds.
The region, also known as N66, contains thousands of young stars and offers a remarkable view of star formation in a galaxy with much lower metallicity than our own Milky Way. Processed: AstroPixelProcessor, PixInsight and Affinity
