NGC 3372 is also known as the Great Carina Nebula. It is a large, complex region containing bright and dark nebulae in the constellation Carina (southern hemisphere).
I stacked the narrowband data in PixInsight and also processed it in PixInsight to create this astrophotograph in SHO, the Hubble color palette.
It took me a couple of hours to work on the colors, contrast, sharpness, etc. to get them exactly the way I wanted them (because I like some experimentation :-)), and I was rewarded with this result.
In my opinion, the Great Carina Nebula is such a gorgeous and majestic nebula. It’s definitely one of my favorites in the southern hemisphere, besides NGC 3576, the Statue of Liberty Nebula.
Clear skies!
