Cigar Galaxy
The Cigar Galaxy (M 82) is an active galaxy located about 12 million light years away in the direction of the constellation Ursa Major. Its proximity to a larger galaxy (M 81) has caused gravitational effects to deform it and cause a strong increase in star formation.
