47 Tucanae (NGC 104)

47 Tucanae, also known as NGC 104, is a huge, ancient globular cluster located about 15,000 light years from Earth. It is well known for being home to a large number of weird and interesting stars and systems. Located in the southern constellation of Toucan, 47 Tucanae is in orbit around our Milky Way. At some 120 light years wide, it is so large that despite its distance, it appears almost as big as the Full Moon. Home to millions of stars, it is one of the largest and most massive globular clusters known. It is also visible to the naked eye
