The Christmas Tree Cluster and Cone Nebula

They're in there somewhere. I'm tending to apply more than traditional stretching to my photos because I realize that, by nature, I'm an explorer not a photographer and contemporary sensors are capable of more HDR than traditionally used. I have been skeptical because of the sometimes-grainy appearance of regions like those at the perimeter of this photo, but after comparing many similar photos I've come to realize that the representation is accurate even if exaggerated due to local stretching. More than anything, what this approach needs technically is a multiscale gradient correction that can be applied to monochrome S, H, and O images separately.
