Cobra and Mouse (NGC 2442, 2443)
South of the celestial equator in the constellation Volans is this beautiful intermediate spiral galaxy. NGC 2442 is the upper spiral structure and NGC 2443 is the lower horizontal spiral arm. The elliptical galaxy to the right is NGC 2434.
