Decided to get my other two favorite targets from the southern hemisphere. This was taken with the AUS-2 telescope.
This supernova can only be seen from the southern hemisphere. One day I hope to head to Australia or New Zealand where I can take some of these targets in person.
The Vela Supernova remnant is a Type II supernova, meaning that it is the result of a fast collapse of a massive star. I still cannot believe this is only 2 hours of data! Thank you telescope live!
